"House of ill repute" = A place filled with politicians.

"Higher office" = hosting a morning AM radio show.

Radio host = "harder than being governor."

"Corrupt bargain" = His impeachment, ouster and the subsequent push for tax hikes.

"Far away place" = Springfield, seat of the state Capitol.

Street corner = place to "fight for the average working person."

"Screwing the average person" = What lawmakers have done by kicking him out of office, pushing tax hikes.

"Dangerous profession" = running for governor.

The governor took a handful of calls, including several from the suburbs praising the governor.

Ted from Algonquin: "So, what they are saying you did in the pay-to-play program, I don't believe."

Patti from Villa Park: "I wouldn't have health care if it wasn't for you."
