Helping businesses good for whole town
I recently read an article where one of the residents took exception to the thought of helping the commercial corridor on Route 143. Sorry to hear that.
I was privileged to attend a couple of the meetings at the village hall where some of the merchants were extremely happy to hear that the village administration was very interested in trying to help with their problems.
They were happy for at least three good reasons. One, people were more apt to stop in an area with high eye appeal, which is not the case here. Two, more customers equal more profit. Three, more profit equals more tax money for the village coffers to help offset rising costs to all.
Does that sound like pie in the sky thinking or just maybe some sound and intelligent thinking. You be the judge!
