2 charged in shooting death of teen
Authorities in Chicago have charged two teenagers in the fatal weekend shooting of an 18-year-old whose younger brother was killed last month in an assault-rifle attack outside a South Side school building.
Chicago Police say 17-year-old Tyrese Castleberry and an unnamed 15-year-old youth have been charged as adults with one count apiece of first-degree murder with Friday night's shooting of 18-year-old Carnell Pitts after a house party on East 92nd St.
Authorities charged Castleberry on Sunday and the 15 year-old on Saturday.
A Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman confirmed Pitts was the brother of Kendrick Pitts, a 17-year-old shot to death with two friends on Feb. 20.
