Citizen workshop Saturday

The New Americans Initiative will host a workshop for eligible legal permanent residents who are interested in applying for American citizenship from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Maryville Academy, 1150 River Road, Des Plaines.

Purpose of the workshop is to assist immigrants with completing the forms for naturalization or who have questions about the process. The workshop will provide application, photograph, and legal services. Photographs cost $10 and all other services are free.

The sponsors of the workshop include the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and the Office for Hispanic Catholics, Vicariate 1 of the Archdiocese of Chicago. The project is funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services.
