West Aurora 6, Geneva 1: Stephanie Becker hurled four innings for the Blackhawks (1-0), before Ali Hoffman pitched the final three for the save. Devon Vaughn batted 2-for-3. The Vikings had a chance to rally in the fifth as they put two runnners on with two out. But outfielder Kiara Towles tracked down a deep fly ball, crashing into the foul fence in the process.

Sandwich 6, Batavia 4: The Bulldogs dropped their season opener in Minooka. Although they outhit Minooka 10-6, Batavia made three critical errors in the field that allowed Minooka to take the lead in the fourth inning and extend it in the fifth. Christine Lynam batted 2-for-4 with a triple while Emily Dorjath, Kristen Anderson and Katie Luetkens all added had a pair of hits.

St. Charles East 1, Glenbard North 0: The Saints (1-0) scored the game's only run when Jenny Niemiec hit into a fielder's choice, allowing Pam Sommer to cross home plate. Gaby More pitched the distance for the Saints, allowing two hits and striking out five.
