15-year-old questioned in stabbing of grandmother

BELLEVILLE -- Police in Belleville say they have been questioning a 15-year-old boy in the fatal stabbing of his 68-year-old grandmother.

Officers say the stabbing occurred late Saturday afternoon in the woman's home.

Police did not immediately release the victim's name because family members had not yet been notified, and they didn't release the suspect's name because he is a juvenile and hasn't been charged.

Belleville Police Capt. Don Sax said his name will not be released unless he's charged as an adult, and no such charges can come before Monday.
