Registration open for football, cheerleading squads in Gilberts

The Gilberts Youth Football and Cheerleading Program is looking for kids, ages 5 to 14, for the 2009 campaign. Registration will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Saturdays, March 14, April 4, May 9 and June 13 at the Eagles Club, 325 Raymond in Gilberts. Online registration will be available at www.gyfca.com.

Join the Grizzlies in Pop Warner action. All practices and home games will be played in Gilberts next season at the Eagles Club or at the new park fields. All coaches are ASEP certified. Pop Warner is the largest and most respected youth football and cheerleading program in the nation. Registration will cost $175 for football and $125 for cheerleading. Football players get to keep personalized Grizzly jersey at the end of the 2009 season.

Hampshire High School head football coach Dan Cavanaugh recognizes the Gilberts Youth Football and Cheer Association as a feeder program for the Hampshire Whippurs High School Football program. The Gilberts Youth Football and Cheerleading Program is an association that plays and cheers in the highly competitive and highly respected Pop Warner based organization. The Grizzlies serve kids from Carpentersville, Hampshire, East Dundee, Huntley, Pingree Grove, Sleepy Hollow, and West Dundee that feed into Dundee Crown, Hampshire, and Jacobs high schools.
