All-you-can-eat fundraiser
The Men's Club of Burlington United Methodist Church will hold its 68th Annual Ham Dinner at 4 p.m. Saturday at 195 W Center St. in Burlington. Proceeds help support church programs. Algonquin Township GOP scholarships
Algonquin Township Republicans will award two $500 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who live in Algonquin Township and have been accepted to a college, university or vocational/technical school. Applicants must complete and sign an entry form that includes answering essay questions by April 30. Award recipients will be notified by June 1. Jacobs to compete for grant
The teen driver safety program at Jacobs High School has been named one of the top 10 programs nationwide among Project Ignition grant recipients. Project Ignition is a program sponsored by State Farm Insurance that awards grants to high schools for driver education initiatives. The Project Ignition team at Jacobs received $2,000 through the program last year to create its "In the Blink of an Eye, Think Before You Drive" program. The team at Jacobs will now compete for a $10,000 grant.
