Man fatally shot in Centreville

CENTREVILLE -- Police in the southwestern Illinois town of Centreville are investigating the shooting death of a 30-year-old man.

Police summoned to a duplex apartment before dawn Thursday found Taymond Freeman's body inside one of the apartments.

Deputy Police Chief James Mister says there was no sign of a struggle and the home wasn't ransacked.

There's no immediate word on any arrests or motive.

Mister says Illinois State Police are assisting.
