Can't anyone do the right thing for once?

Roland Burris has shown the entire country he will not step down and do the right thing - just like the person who appointed him would not. When do we get a politician who truly believes in serving the public rather than themselves?

I had hoped Patrick Quinn might have been one of those politicians, but now it appears that after his meeting with the black ministers (who have played yet another race card) has resulted in Quinn stating he will back off his initiative to have Burris step down. What happened to having the best person - male, female, black, white, red, whatever, fill the senate position?

It's past time for Roland Burris to step down. If Burris is truly concerned with doing the people's work, he needs to step aside and let a person who could be effective actually do the people's work - for a change!
