Electioneering at taxpayer expense

Recently, the taxpayers of the Northwest suburbs paid for State Senator Matt Murphy and State Rep. Syd Mathias to send out 35,000 mailers, advertising themselves in the guise of constituent services, when the state budget is bloated by $2 billion and a job-creating capital construction plan has not been approved.

These mailings are obviously blatant electioneering by these two suburban Republicans.

At a time when they point the finger at Democrats, let us point the finger back at them for this abuse of the franking privilege.

Maybe they should do their part to control state spending, by saving the taxpayers of the Northwest suburbs from their political advertising.
