Don't dump sewage into drinking water

After heavy rains, it's typical to hear on the news or read in the newspapers how one or more suburbs and even Chicago had to dump zillions of gallons of raw sewage into Lake Michigan because their treatment plant could not handle the overload. Hey, don't do that. We have to drink that water. Do you flush your toilet into your bath water? Into your cup of coffee? Into your water heater? You get the idea. How can civilized people discharge their raw waste into their drinking water? Is this crazy or what? Public officials in suburban communities and in Chicago, especially Chicago because of its huge discharges, should be carted off to jail for discharging raw sewage into our drinking water. Think about it. Discharging raw sewage into our drinking water is unthinkable.
