Jackson, Marston, Popilek offer best vision for Pingree Grove

With Pingree Grove poised for huge growth, trustee candidates agree commercial development is key.

For the 2-year seat, Charles Jackson shows the ability to responsibly expand the tax base and work with other governments. He edges out Larry Gillie, a promising candidate, only by his plan commission experience, as well as Jon Peschke.

In the 4-year race, incumbents Greg Marston and Ricky Popilek are endorsed for their forward thinking and teamwork sense. Newcomer Joshua Cossiboon's priorities look solid. We do not endorse Patrick Whalen, who also is running uncontested for Rutland Township trustee. The Daily Herald has a policy not to endorse candidates who plan to hold two or more offices at the same time. Incumbent Richard Stramaglia is waging a write-in campaign.
