Learn tips for losing weight at library program

If you need a little nudge in keeping that resolution you made again this year to lose weight, plan on attending a weight-loss program on Saturday, Feb. 28, hosted by the Dundee Township Public Library.

"Weight Loss 101: Naturally and Permanently" will feature Dr. David Noble, founder of Noble Chiropractic Wellness & Nutrition in Carpentersville. It will be held at 2 p.m. at the West Dundee Public Safety Center, 100 Carrington Drive, near Route 72 and Sleepy Hollow Road.

Noble will discuss how you may be getting in the way of your own weight loss efforts by unintentionally triggering the natural process of fat storage in your body, a survival mechanism that is built into the human body's design.

"Many people think they are eating healthy, but in reality are not," he said. "Those diet books on the best-seller list don't have all the answers. Too many people get hooked on one-size-fits-all diet plans. They don't realize that each person has different challenges and nutritional needs," he said.

The program will teach participants how to restore the body's ability to burn calories and stay energized; what foods promote fat storage and how specific aspects of your health affect weight gain or loss. You also will learn what tips you can incorporate into your life immediately for healthy practices that will result in lasting changes.

Noble graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in 1995, and has maintained a practice in the Dundee-Carpentersville area for more than 12 years. He is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Seating is limited for this program, so register soon if you plan to attend. You may register in person at the library, 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee, by calling (847) 428-3661, ext. 308, or online at www.dundeelibrary.info.
