Sears closes Naperville call center that employed 145 workers

Sears Holdings Corp. has closed a suburban Chicago call center that employed 145 people.

Sears spokesman Kimberly Freely says the call center in Naperville closed Jan. 27.

She says the center had taken calls for Sears' home services business, and other call centers around the country are now fielding those calls.

Sears announced late last month it was cutting 300 corporate jobs at its headquarters in Hoffman Estates, as well as in Troy, Mich., and New York. The employees left jobless by the call center's closing were not included in that figure.
