Call state officials to stop gambling

It is evident that our state officials who are elected to solve the states fiscal problems are just contributing to the money problems by staying on the job drawing per diem dollars and looking to solve our problems by looking at gambling dollars, which has already declined by an estimated $40 million with an outlook of approximately $100 million by years end.

What makes these public servants feel that adding video machines and slot machines will help our fiscal problems. This will only add more compulsive gamblers and add to states welfare rolls. Media reports indicate racetracks expect more riverboat money and it almost resembles pigs at the trough.

Perhaps sending an e-mail or calling your legislator may sound a bell so they can hear from the people who elected them.
