Link trying to separate from Blago
The morning after the Democratic National Convention, Rod Blagojevich cuts vital local programs hoping that it gets minimal press. By all accounts, our governor is a very poor leader, manipulative and plays Chicago-style politics with little regard for those affected. Regarding the cuts, our current State Sen. Terry Link is quoted as saying: "I'm truly disappointed." These three simple words speak volumes about Sen. Link, who not only was a leader in protecting the governor from recall, but gave the governor and himself a 10 percent salary raise last year. If Sen. Link is surprised by the governor's behavior, one would have to question his ability to judge people (have we forgotten about his indicted petition circulators?). More likely, this is the start of the senator's distancing of himself from a very unpopular governor as part of his bid for re-election. We can't expect different results when we keep sending the same people to Springfield. Our state government is a joke, made that way by the people running it. To borrow a line from the convention by both Link and Blagojevich-. IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE!
