Ill. man charged with reckless homicide in wreck
EDWARDSVILLE -- A southwestern Illinois man is now charged with reckless homicide in the weekend crash that killed a young couple and their unborn child.
Madison County prosecutors on Monday charged 56-year-old Donald Canterberry of Granite City.
Authorities say he was driving drunk Saturday near Fairmont City when he rear-ended a vehicle occupied by 24-year-old Lindsey Arnold-Zimmer, who was five-months pregnant, and 26-year-old Adam Zimmer.
The Granite City couple and their unborn child died at the scene.
Police say the impact pushed the Zimmers' car into the path of a pickup truck. That driver and Canterberry sustained minor injuries.
A prosecutor says Canterberry has at least four other DUI arrests in Illinois and three other states.
Canterberry is jailed on $1 million bond.
