Dann's movie swag to help local charity

I call it priceless motion picture artifacts. My wife calls it junk.

I've been collecting "freebie" promotional items from Hollywood studios for the past 20 years. Now, I've donated my collection to Our Redeemer's United Methodist Church to use as a fundraiser to help Richard Vales, who 12 years ago quit his job, sold his Hoffman Estates home and moved to the Philippines where he continues to fight hunger, poverty and disease with church support.

Want movie T-shirts, caps, toys, silly keepsakes? I've got 'em. How about an official jar of Ray Liotta Honey from "Bee Movie"? The entire Bobblehead cast from "Tropic Thunder" including Oscar-nominee Robert Downey Jr.? Got that, too.

Call (847) 882-6116 for details.

Facts: 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Our Redeemer's United Methodist Church, Schaumburg and Springinsguth roads, Schaumburg.

'Under the Sea 3D'

Sorry, but no crustacean breaks into a musical number in this 3-D IMAX documentary. Filmmakers shipped 8,000 pounds of equipment to Australia, New Guinea and Indonesia to make this film. Jim Carrey narrates.

Opens Friday, Feb. 13, at area IMAX theaters.
