Bean made the right choice on health care

I would like to thank Congresswoman Melissa Bean for her vote in favor of Health Care Reform. Representing a conservative district, it took courage to vote for reform in the face of determined opposition. Yet, I am sure that in future years even the opponents will come to appreciate the effort to better the life of Americans by protecting their health.

Measures such as Social Security and Medicare were also strongly opposed by conservatives. However, we have come to appreciate the protections these programs bring. I believe the same will be said of health care reform in future years. For many, the prospect of change brings fear. However, without change, there can be no progress.
