You've Got Games
Board games and card games will be available for all ages to play from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and April 29. Participants are encouraged to bring their own favorites from home too. Reading and arithmetic skills are necessary for most games.
Book Club
The Novel Pleasures Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday to discuss "The Lady and the Unicorn" by Tracy Chevalier and/or "The Blood of Flowers" by Anita Amirrezvani.
Let's Talk Books
The Children's book discussion group will meet at 3:30 p.m. on March 19. Register at the Children's Reference Desk, where copies of the book are available. The group will discuss "Holes," by Louis Sachar.
Babysitting Class
The library is offering a class for boys and girls ages 11 and up based on the Safe Sitter curriculum, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29. There is a fee of $40, which covers the cost of a manual, tote bag, and other materials. Payment must be made in-person at the Adult Reference Desk at the time of registration. Bring a sack lunch.
Game night for tweens
Ages 8 to 13 are invited for a night of Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero II from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 8. Snacks and drinks provided.
Chess and Cookies
All ages can come in and play chess from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 9 and May 7. Zach Simonini will teach anyone who doesn't already know how. Some chessboards will be provided, but participants are invited to bring their favorite boards.
Writer's Group
The group meets the third Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8:45 p.m.
