Four men were arrested and thousands of dollars in cash, cars and drugs were seized Friday morning when police and drug agents searched four homes at the Fox View Apartments in Carpentersville.

Deandre Johnson, 17, of 733 Houston Drive, was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

William Ingram, 20, of 4 Middlesex Drive #8, was charged with multiple counts of delivery and possession of a controlled substance.

James Merrick, 20, of 4 Middlesex Drive #17, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana.

Tyree Franklin, 22, of 19 Oxford Drive #15, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, multiple counts of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of ammunition.

Police armed with warrants from Crystal Lake, Carpentersville, Elgin and the Kane County Sheriff's Department, along with drug agents from the North Central Narcotics Task Force, split into teams Friday morning to search the apartments at the same time.

In addition to nearly $10,000, two cars, crack cocaine, powder cocaine and marijuana, police said they recovered several bullets in Franklin's apartment.

Carpentersville Deputy Chief Michael Gillette said, "We've made over 12 drug purchases at the apartments in the past two months."

Some of the charges against the four might be enhanced since some of the activity took place within 1,000 feet of Dundee-Crown High School.

All four men will appear at bond hearings this morning.
