A matter of heart

I agree with the writer who emphasized reverence for the flag (less about code, but what is in your heart and how you show it.). You receive respect when you show respect, to everyone, to yourself, to your flag and country. As for Colin Kaepernick, his original message is lost because of his action. As for Traci O'Neal Ellis, the Elgin school board member, she stands when she has to in order to keep her job, but the pledge she recites is not what is in her heart.
