One shot dead, one injured in south suburbs

\Two people were shot Thursday afternoon in South suburban South Holland near Thornridge High School and St. Jude parish, which contains a grade school. ABC 7 Chicago reported South Holland police were on the scene near 154th Street and Cottage Grove near the Dolton border. A body was found in a field, and an injured person was found in the street and taken to a Harvey hospital. Neighbors say the shooting occurred around 3 p.m. Officials say no students were involved.
