Kreps, Mayo ignite Flames' 1-2 punch

VALPARAISO, Ind. - Robo Kreps and Josh Mayo both scored a game-high 25 points to lead Illinois-Chicago to an 83-76 win over Valparaiso on Sunday.

Tori Boyd added 14 points and a game-high 9 rebounds for the Flames (12-14, 5-11 Horizon League), who trailed Valparaiso 43-40 at the half.

The Crusaders (7-19, 4-11) led by as many as 9 points after the break before the Flames rallied, starting with a Kreps' 3-pointer with 5:09 left that put Illinois-Chicago ahead 71-70. Valparaiso twice recaptured the lead before Kreps hit a free throw with 1:26 left as the Flames took the lead for good.

Urule Igbavboa had 20 points to lead the Crusaders, who also got 19 from Michael Rogers and 18 from Jake Diebler.
