Meet with assessor:

Blackberry Township Assessor Uwe Rotter will conduct monthly taxpayer workshops at 7 p.m. the fourth Thursday of every month at the Blackberry Township building, 43W390 Main Street Road, Elburn. Taxpayers will learn about the property tax cycle, how assessments are developed and the appeal process. They will have the opportunity to address specific questions concerning their property and ask any other property tax questions. Rotter envisions bringing his presentation to libraries or community centers to reach more taxpayers. For details, call (630) 365-6580.

Restaurant has food drive:

Le Berry Bistro, 227 S. Third St. in Geneva, is having a canned goods drive for local food pantries through February. For each canned good a patron brings, up to three per visit, they will get $1 off the bill. To see menus and restaurant hours, visit LeBerryBistro.com.
