Family businesses will be missed

Due to the economy, many local family owned businesses are shutting their doors. One that will be truly missed and has been at the corner of Route 83 and Route 60 in Mundelein for 21 years is Jungleland Pet Shop. I will miss the beautiful birds that greeted you as you walked through the doors. I will miss the sparkling fish tanks I passed by on my way to the clean cages filled with happy, healthy puppies. From the kittens to the hamsters to the exotics, this pet shop was one of a kind! The proud owners of this "mini zoo" are Audrey and Rick. They had answers to any questions, always with a smile on their face. Their dedication to ensure every creature went out the door to a good loving home is unsurpassed. I'm sorry for all the employees of any family-owned business. I hope one day they will all return.
