MacArthur is an outstanding school

We read with sadness and anger about a teacher who betrayed his trust and after a lengthy and discreet investigation was finally charged with abusing one of his students.

Whether or not the accused is guilty is not the purpose of this letter. It is to inform this community that we have been a part of this school for almost three years now. We have never encountered a more professional, dedicated and compassionate group of teachers, coaches and administrators in any of the public or private schools our children have attended. As shocking the accusations are against a single teacher equally shocking are some of the comments demanding scalps, pay reductions for the entire staff and other ludicrous recriminations.

If you have no experience with this school might I respectfully suggest you keep your uninformed opinions to yourself. Let the legal process move forward against one teacher and allow this staff of grieving educators to process their own sadness, for the child and for themselves. We stand with them today in our prayers, encouragement and confidence in their resilience. We are proud to be MacArthur parents.
