Nine Things to Know About Naked Night

Wholesome-looking naked guys singing onstage? That's old hat at Chicago's Bailiwick Theater, where the show "Barenaked Lads" has been running more than two years.

On Friday, though, the audience can get naked, too. Bailiwick is inviting people to enter the theater, disrobe, watch the show and dress again before leaving.

But of course, you want to know more.

Who comes to this show?

In general, it attracts bachelorette and girls-night-out parties, gay men, couples and even families.

"It's a fun event for people who want to do something a little naughty but not dirty in any way," says Bailiwick artistic director David Zak.

Nudist societies have put the word out for Naked Audience Night, so it may attract a lot of nudists.

Where do you put your clothes?

In a gym bag. Nothing's worse than having to search for your undies in the row behind you.

How old do you have to be to attend?

Eighteen.

Do you have to take your clothes off?

"It's always better when everybody does it," Zak says. "We don't want people coming to stare at other audience members."

Will alcohol be served?

No, the theater doesn't have a liquor license, and there is no intermission, meaning you won't be walking around au naturel. You undress and dress at your seat.

Did you need city approval?

No, Zak says, because neither liquor nor food preparation is involved. "I would think this would fall under artistic license," he muses.

Do people wear shoes? If so, don't they look dorky?

Two words: flip flops.

Everyone is going to sit on a towel, right?

Yes. And if they forget their towel, the theater will find them a paper one.

Would this be a good way to celebrate a birthday?

Yes. Wear your birthday suit.

(Sorry. We couldn't resist.)
