Kane County
• A gray-primer pickup truck was seen speeding up and "barreling into" a gaggle of geese about 3:55 p.m. Sunday on Old Barn Road, north of Route 20, in Plato Township, according to a police report. A witness told police the truck, possibly a Toyota, was occupied by two white men in baseball hats. One goose was killed and another was injured, police said.
Geneva
• One hundred bags of magnesium chloride ice-melting pellets were stolen off two pallets behind a snow-removal truck parked in back of a shopping center in the 1500 block of South Randall Road. It happened around 4:43 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
• Edward J. Scheel, 52, of the 900 block of Redwing Drive, was charged with felony aggravated battery, felony battery and misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a police report. He is accused of throwing the contents of a water bottle at a woman at that same address, then punching her in the ribs and face, breaking her nose. She was treated at Delnor Hospital.
• Mario Carolos Hightower Jr., 21, of the 1800 block of Walnut Street, St. Charles, was charged with attempted obstruction of justice, according to a police report. He gave a false name when they were questioning him at 1:41 a.m. Friday at Old Towne Pub, 201 W. State St.
South Elgin
• A cabdriver was robbed of $207 at about 4:35 a.m. Nov. 2 at Sundown Road and Martin Drive after two black men flagged him down and threatened him at gunpoint, reports said. No arrests were made and no injuries were reported.
