Nine arrested in Batavia drug bust
Nine people were arrested in a drug bust in Batavia Wednesday, police announced today.
Emory Jones, 44, of the 200 block of Laurel Drive, North Aurora, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and park, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and park.
Lashawn Herndon, 24, of the 1300 block of north Russell Road, Aurora, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of cannabis.
Kevin Grigler, 21, of the 0-100 block of Fernwood Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
Keith Brown, 23, of the 1400 block of Twin Oaks Trail, Aurora, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church.
Elzy Scott, 34, of the 800 block of north Gillette Ave., Aurora, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church.
Linda Lee, 57, of the 700 block of north Van Buren St., Batavia, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of senior citizen housing, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church, and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
Nathan Keys, 25, of the 600 block of Glenwood Place, Aurora, was charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis.
Harold Alexander, 25, of the 800 block of Fordham Ave., Aurora, was charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis.
A 16-year-old Batavia boy also was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church, and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
Additional arrests are pending, according to Batavia police detective Sgt. Edgardo Perez.
The arrests are the result of a three-month undercover sweep Batavia police conducted in cooperation with the Elgin Police Department.
