Immanuel to host preschool open house
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Immanuel Lutheran School, 5 S. Van Buren St. in East Dundee, is hosting its annual preschool open house from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Parents interested in enrolling their child into Immanuel's excellent education program are being offered a chance to view the classroom in action. Cindy Geye, preschool teacher, will be available to offer information regarding its teaching program and expectations.
Geye, a veteran teacher, describes Immanuel's preschool program as having a formal curriculum. Common to Immanuel's preschool are the kindergarten readiness objectives include letter recognition, number skills and fine motor skills. Enrichment activities such as music, art and movement are also taught.
"Your choice of preschool should depend on your child's needs," Geye stated. "I like programs which combine both social and academic because children not only need the academic part to get them ready for kindergarten, but also need to learn those crucial social skills to work with others and get along in a classroom."
Parents are welcome to drop by or call Geye at (847) 428-1010 to discuss their child's needs or to gather details.
