Students in history fair:
Students in honors U.S. history at Grayslake Central High School are competing in a special event. The pupils are part of the Chicago Metro History Fair, competition that's affiliated with the larger National History Day. This year's theme is "The Individual in History." The pupils have the option to work individually or as a group to develop an exhibit, a documentary, a live performance or research paper based on the theme. The top 10 projects will move on to the regional suburban Chicago Metro History Fair on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Niles North High School in Skokie. Regional champions must go through other levels in an effort to compete at National History Day in Maryland.
