Kane County Sheriff's officers gather evidence Wednesday after divers removed the body of a man from the Fox River near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Irwin Ave in St. Charles Township.

A missing St. Charles-area man's body was pulled from the Fox River near his home Wednesday.
Police identified the man as 47-year-old Jeff H. Hoss. His body was recovered about 11:50 a.m. on the 35W400 block of Riverside Drive in the Valley View area of St. Charles Township.
Hoss's roommate reported him missing Tuesday to the Kane County Sheriff's Department. Police said deputies found his body floating just below the surface of the river after being called to his house at 10:44 a.m. for a follow-up investigation.
Police found no immediate signs of foul play, Sheriff's Lt. Pat Gengler said Wednesday afternoon. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
"We're treating it as a death investigation at this point," Gengler said.
