Three taken to hospitals in rollover crash

Three people were injured in a vehicle rollover accident at Rollins Road and Orchard Lane in Round Lake Beach, police said Friday.

Deputy Police Chief Rich Chiarello said four vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred about 1:10 p.m. Chiarello did not know the extent of the injuries, but said all of the victims were conscious.

Witnesses told police the accident occurred at the intersection with Orchard Lane when a vehicle driving west on Rollins Road crossed into the left-turn lane of eastbound Rollins and struck a vehicle there.

It is unclear if that vehicle was stopped or in the process of turning, officials said. That vehicle hit other vehicles, and the westbound vehicle rolled onto its hood.

At least one of the three people transported to a hospital was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
