Algonquin

• A woman wanted on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear in court was arrested Friday evening at Main and Washington streets. Diana J. Hutton, 40, of the 100 block of Spring Court North, Carpentersville, was charged with contempt of court, police said. Hutton posted a $500 bond and was released with a March 11 court date in St. Charles.

Crystal Lake

• Police arrested a 39-year-old Crystal Lake man Saturday after discovering marijuana plants growing in his home during a random check of parolees living within the city. Alexis Ojea, of the 200 block of Marian Parkway, was charged with the production of marijuana plants, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana, police said. Police said they found growing marijuana plants, an enhanced lighting system and a ventilation system in his apartment. He remained in the McHenry County jail Monday awaiting a March 2 court date in Woodstock.

Elgin

• A 29-year-old man received a head wound early Sunday morning after he was hit with a snow shovel during a party on the 1200 block of Fairwood Court, police said. The victim was taken to Sherman Hospital and police are investigating.

South Elgin

• Police recovered small amounts of cocaine and marijuana and a glass pipe in a traffic stop Sunday evening at Collins and Middle streets. Justin A. Burns, 28, of the 2900 block of Foxmoore Drive, Montgomery, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Burns posted a $1,000 bond and was released Monday from custody. His next court date is on March 3 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

West Dundee

• An employee of a Spring Hill Mall store was arrested Friday on charges she used another's lost credit card to purchase $165.35 worth of merchandise, police said. Noimi Hernandez, 18, of the 900 block of Chippewa Circle, Carpentersville, was charged with unlawful use of a credit card and forgery, according to a report. She posted a $500 bond and was released with a March 5 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
