Don't stay silent on Ryan's release

We've now heard a number of Illinois politicians weigh-in on the subject of President Bush granting former Gov. George Ryan an early release from prison.

Many of us Illinois citizens would prefer that Illinois, arguably the most politically corrupt state (with Louisiana and New Jersey nipping at our heels and now, that Sarah Palin has brought her state out into the open, Alaska just a shade behind), would move down on that list. We believe giving crooked politicians get-out-of-jail-early passes is not going to help make that happen.

I wonder how do all these other Illinois politicians feel? To me, their silence is deafening.
