Let's give Burris a chance to serve
The title of an article in the Daily Herald Dec. 31, 2008, reads, "Burris embarrasses his good name." Before I go off on this article let's think about for a moment and use our God given intelligence.
From this article I point out that it states "distinguished career in public service, the first black elected to statewide office, a former attorney general and comptroller."
After reading this it seems to me that Roland Burris has all the qualifications to serve as a Senator for the next two years. I ask why in the world are all of our elected officials throwing a curve ball? Are they acting on their pure emotion? In my opinion they all need to act upon their intelligence.
Governor Rod Blagojevich did the right move to appoint a qualified person. He did not sell the seat to him. I plead to our government officials to get over it and accept the appointment. Or are you afraid that this gentleman will serve the public? Just as the rest of you should be doing. All of you are getting too pompous. Lets get to the point folks all of you are making yourself look like idiots.
Don't worry folks Rod Blagojevich will get his day in court just as all wrongdoers and criminals.
Again I plead with our government elected officials to allow this duly qualified appointed gentleman to perform the duties of Senator of our State of Illinois. In God we trust.
