Long Grove Cafe to feature winter food, wine

The Long Grove Cafe hosts its Winter Food & Wine Evening, offering guests a four-course menu of international cuisine, teamed up with select wines. Chef and owner Bill Hristakos will prepare the meal, along with a guest chef.

Have a meal while helping the hungry

Throughout the month of February, patrons of LeBerry Bistro in Geneva,will receive $1 off their bill for each canned good they bring (limit three cans per visit) when they eat at the restaurant. The offer is valid every day for brunch, lunch and dinner menus. All canned goods will be donated to local food pantries.

Steve samples some chili

Steve "Mongo" McMichael, the former Chicago Bear football player and head coach of the Chicago Slaughter arena football team, will serve as host and judge at the Super Chili Bowl chili fest event at Mahoney's Pub & Grille. Chicago restaurants, known for their chili dishes, will enter their recipes for judging in this all-you-can-eat fest. Only one restaurant will receive the Super Chili Bowl trophy at the end of the day. Patrons are invited to not only dig into the chili, but to join McMichael in the judging.
