Sox call up 5 from Charlotte

In preparation for tonight's game at Minnesota, the White Sox made five roster moves Tuesday afternoon:

• Called up infielder Chris Getz from his rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list. Getz has been on the disabled list since Aug. 12 with a strained right oblique;

• Reinstated outfielder Dewayne Wise from his rehabilitation assignment at Charlotte. Wise has been on the disabled list since Aug. 15 with a strained AC joint in his right shoulder;

• Recalled infielder Josh Fields from Charlotte;

• Recalled right-handed pitcher Carlos Torres from Charlotte; and

• Purchased the contract of catcher Tyler Flowers from Charlotte.

Flowers, who has no major-league experience, will wear uniform No. 39. He combined to hit .297 (105-353) with 15 home runs and 56 RBI in 108 games between Class AA Birmingham and Charlotte this season.

With the moves, the White Sox active roster is at 28 players, and the 40-man roster is at 39.
