Bensenville police investigate armed robbery
Bensenville police are looking for a silver SUV driven by a gunman who robbed a York Road business Thursday afternoon.
Police said they responded at 12:08 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at GameStop, 1141 S. York Road. Officers were told a man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded the employee give him money from the cash register.
The employee gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash and the man fled on foot, police said.
A camera in the area recorded the man entering and fleeing in a silver SUV, and Bensenville police are working with area police departments to locate the vehicle, police Chief Frank Kosman said.
The man is described as 25 to 30 years old, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a goatee and wearing sunglasses, a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, police said.
Village officials said the same store has been robbed around the same time of year for several years.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bensenville's investigations unit at (630) 350-3455.
