Chamber should be protecting citizens
Shame on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
As a growing number of Americans lose their jobs and worry about the growing threat of terrorism, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has just taken a shameful step to try and make things worse. A new federal law will force companies that get U.S. government business to confirm that their employees are U.S. citizens or legal immigrants by confirming their legal status with E-Verify. E-Verify is a free government service with a 99.5% accuracy rate, but the Chamber of Commerce is suing the government to drop the requirement.
Why is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce fighting this? In my opinion it is because businesses make more profit when they can use illegal aliens that will work for less money and cannot complain about working conditions. Profit. It is that simple
At a time when unemployment is 7% and growing at an alarming rate, we must take every possible legal action that the remaining jobs go to U.S. citizens or legal immigrants. Don't you want to know that your taxes are being paid to U.S. citizens and legal immigrants versus illegal aliens? The U.S. Chamber of Commerce position is simply despicable and better change or they will feel the anger of the American people. If you are as outraged as I am, let them know.
