Officials: 2 dead after standoff in Dolton
Authorities say a 41-year-old man shot and killed his wife before killing himself after a standoff with police in the Chicago suburb of Dolton.
Dolton Police Chief Robert Fox says police surrounded the home Tuesday after they were alerted to gunfire coming from inside.
Authorities say Gregory McClain was holding his wife, LaTonya McClain, hostage. They say they asked the man to surrender.
Fox says police know the McClains were alive throughout the day because police talked to them on the phone.
SWAT members and officers from the South Suburban Emergency Response Team helped Dolton police.
