Mayor Al Larson, Schaumburg

Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson already will be in Washington, D.C. for a U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting, but will be attending the inauguration on a ticket from Congressman Peter Roskam's office.

This will be the third inauguration Larson has attended. He was at the first inaugurations of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. "Any one you go to has meaning. It's historical," Larson said.

"One the weather was great, the next it was miserable. But this is the first African-American elected to the presidency, and at a time when the country is looking for hope."
