Lisle Lions

Coach Mark LaScala

Last year 11-16, 6-5, tied for fifth in the Interstate Eight Conference; lost 62-41 to Chicago Christian in the Class 2A Chicago Christian regional quarterfinals.

Top players Anthony Bacco, jr., G; Ryan Liss, sr., G/F; Phil Palicka, jr., C; Michael Reeves, sr., F; Dallas Schnake, sr., F; Marcus Wilson, sr., G; Chris Wray, jr., F.

Scouting report LaScala is excited about this squad, which should compete in a wide-open Interstate Eight. Liss, Wray and Palicka - 6-foot-1, 6-4, 6-4 - may be Lisle's highest-scoring frontcourt since LaScala arrived from Neuqua Valley. It won't happen overnight. Wray comes off a shoulder injury from football, Palicka enters varsity play after averaging 16 points with the sophomores. An X-factor is Wilson; LaScala seeks consistency from Lisle's top returning scorer at 10.2 points. Behind true point guard Bacco the Lions will probably handle pressure better, but graduation reduced depth and inside defense. "We have to get really good guard play offensively and need to keep our big guys out of foul trouble," LaScala said.
