Trial delayed in beauty salon triple murder
BELLEVILLE -- The trial for a Missouri teen accused of killing three people at a Belleville beauty salon in 2005 has been delayed again.
St. Clair County Circuit Judge Milton Wharton postponed 19-year-old Darrell Lane's trial until at least Feb. 23. It was to have begun Jan. 26.
The case already has been deferred several times as lawyers deal with thousands of pages of documents and video evidence involving the defendant, who was formerly from St. Louis.
Lane is charged with first-degree murder in the March 2005 stabbing deaths of 62-year-old hair stylist Michael Cooney and two of his customers, sisters 82-year-old Dorothy Bone and 79-year-old Doris Fischer.
Lane was 16 at the time of the killings.
