Mathias offers his thanks to voters

A sincere and humble thank you to all of the voters in the 53rd District.

Whether voting absentee, early, or on Nov. 4, your message came through with strength and conviction. Your vote was based upon a clear consideration of candidates and issues reflecting a desire to have your elected officials work across party lines to make things happen for the good of Illinois.

And just as your choice was clearly thoughtful and independent, I am honored to continue to be your strong voice in Springfield as I begin my sixth term, and 11th year as your state representative.

While the name Sidney Mathias was on the ballot, behind that name is a dedicated group of volunteers and residents who worked tirelessly on my re-election campaign. This election reflected your support of my previous leadership accomplishments for our community and your trust in my efforts and commitment to the future.

To all of you, I offer a sincere thank you for helping me to continue my life's work of community service. Rest assured that I will make every effort to hold down tax increases in Springfield and to battle corruption at every level.

To all of the residents in the 53rd district, you have my most sincere promise to always be responsive to your needs, to continue with my efforts to raise your quality of life and to be your advocate and strong voice in the Illinois General Assembly.

State Rep. Sidney Mathias
