The day that journalism died
For years the objective data confirmed the liberal bias of the news media. Whether it was the Pew Research Center, the ombudsman of The Washington Post, or even a study by UCLA, the liberal bias of the press was well documented. But when the editor of Newsweek magazine said, "Obama is above the country. He is above the world. He is almost a god." all pretense was gone. The editor of a major weekly news magazine calling Obama "godlike" with Chris Mathews of NBC saying "yea, yea" in the background sounded the official death knell of professional journalism. By the way, that is the same Chris Mathews who said that Obama "gave him a tingle in his leg." That is today's media objectivity for you.
Our founding fathers constantly talked about how critical a vigilant and free press was to insure democracy and prevent tyranny by vigorously challenging the government for the benefit of the people. Pretty tough for the press to be vigilant when it is on bended knee worshiping the very president that they should be challenging.
