Crash on Route 53 snarls traffic

Illinois State Police and Rolling Meadows fire officials have responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Route 53 in Palatine that occurred about 4 p.m. Friday.

State police officials said more than one vehicle is involved in the accident, and some lanes have been shut down. Some traffic is also being diverted off the highway to Northwest Highway.
