Power outage knocks WTTW off the air

WTTW Channel 11 was off the air for about four hours due to a power outage Friday. The television station was one of 558 Chicago-area ComEd customers that lost power in an outage just after 4 p.m. Roughly 98 percent of those got power back within an hour, according to spokeswoman Marie Turrell. The television station did not get power back until 8:15 p.m. Crews were still working to return power to a handful of additional customers as of 10:15 p.m. and had not yet determined the cause of the outage.
